Training Support Center

The mission of the Training Support Center (TSC) at Camp Edwards is to provide both virtual training resources and live training aides to reinforce and enhance training conducted on the base. Please contact the TSC team for any of the resources listed below.

Call For Fire Trainer

The primary use of the Call For Fire Trainer (CFFT) is for forward observer training. The room also has the availability to be used as a 30 person classroom with an overhead projector, computer hookup, and other audio visual equipment.
Engagement Skills Trainer (EST 2000)

The Engagement Skills Trainer (EST 2000) is a weapons simulator used for a variety of training to include marksmanship, shoot/no-shoot, and squad tactical scenarios. This system has the following weapon systems: M9 Beretta, M16A2, M16A4, M4, M1200 Shotgun, AT4, M240, M249, MK19 and M2 .50 CAL. Camp Edwards has 3 EST rooms available for units to meeting pre live fire training requirements and have been modified to meet TC 3-20.40 standards.
MRAP Egress Trainer

The MET is a training simulator used to simulate a rollover of an MRAP and its crewmembers. It is capable of rotating and stopping in various positions. The purpose of the MET is to simulate an MRAP rollover or roll to the left or right, then train the vehicle occupants to successfully exit (egress) from the rolled MRAP by emphasizing teamwork through crew/battle drills. These trainers are a valuable training asset and assist during the mobilization process.
Virtual Convoy Operations Trainer (VCOT)

The VCOT provides training for combat convoys under realistic conditions through the streets of Iraq and Afghanistan. Newly updated maps and software allow for up-to-date theater specific training. The VCOT ensures that soldiers are trained to anticipate ambushes and other insurgent actions from all possible directions by allowing the crew to observe, maneuver, and fire their weapons through a 360 degree circumference. Crew members are not limited by fixed screen projections; they have a complete and continuous view of the entire virtual world around them as they would under real combat conditions by use of the virtual reality headsets provided.
Unit Gunnery Trainer (UGT):

The Unit Gunnery Trainer (UGT) is one of the virtual tools that Soldiers can use during their virtual training to prepare for live fire gunnery. This system is mobile and tests Soldiers on the skills they they will be evaluated on during live fire gunnery training.
Weapons Vaults

There are 3 transient weapons vaults available for training organizations to draw for the temporary storage of their weapons.
Weapons Cleaning Area

Located in the weapons vault building, the weapons cleaning area has tables and weapons cleaning stations to support units recovering from live or blank fire training.
